‘Borderless Beats’ will feature the freshest blend of Arab hip-hop, reggae and soul from Shadia Mansour, Z The People, El Far3i and Walaa Sbeit. There will also be an after-party with Native Sun, Electric Jalaba and finally, DJ Sotusura spinning the latest underground African/Middle East dance tunes.

The aim of the festival is to celebrate Palestine culture with audiences and artists from all over the world. It will provide guests with a great opportunity to immerse themselves in traditional Palestinian Debka dancing, remixed Palestinian folk songs and the poetic rhymes of Palestine’s sharpest hip-hop emcees.

In the UK, OneTaste is known for helping to launch the careers of Newton Faulkner, the Noisettes and Jamie Woon amongst others.

El Far3i (Jennin/Amman)

A Palestinian drummer, lyricist, rapper and songwriter based in Jordan, El Far3i is one of the most prominent hip hop artists in the region. Catch him singing or rapping to a heavy beat or over the top of a guitar.

Z The People (Ramallah/USA)

Originally from the US of A, Z left America after graduating from the Berklee College of Music in Boston to experience music from a wide range of cultures. Travelling through Cuba, Mali and Greece, Z eventually returned to his Palestine roots to wail his message of union and communion in Gaza and the West Bank.

Walaa Sbeit (Haifa/Iqrit)

A community-art activist, Walaa Sbeit combines Palestinian folklore dance and poetry with his African roots and hip-hop to achieve his goal of highlighting third-world creativity as a means of social change.

Shadia Mansour (UK)

Known as ‘The First Lady of Arab Hip Hop’, Shadia sings and raps in Arabic and English, blending classical and soul in her unique sound. She has previously collaborated with many artists, including The Narcicyst, Lowkey, M-1 of Dead Prez and has opened shows for Busta Rhymes and Mobb Deep.

Native Sun (Mozambique/Caribbean)

This London based duo is made up of bilingual rapper Mohammed Yahya and singer-song writer Sarina Leah. Since 2010, Native Sun have promoted a positive message of Universal Peace, Equality, Social Justice and Environmental Change. They recently released their first joint album together, “Indigenous Soundwaves” amidst a rapidly growing buzz around their exciting performances.

Electric Jalaba (Morocco/USA)

One of London’s most in demand live-acts, Electric Jalaba have performed at Camden Roundhouse, London African Music Festival, V&A Museum, Secret Garden Party and Larmer Tree Festival. They regularly perform electrifying live sets, featuring their space-age-gnawa experimentations.
