The Australian Government was presented with the ‘ashes’ of their climate change conscience today in London to highlight its growing opposition to international efforts to cut carbon emissions.

Environment charity Friends Of The Earth presented the mock ashes urn – while dressed in cricket whites – at the country’s High Commission in London today to highlight the lack of support for cutting carbon emissions the nation has shown at the current UN climate summit in Warsaw, Poland.

“The Australian Government’s opposition to climate change action is a national disgrace,” said Friends of the Earth’s Head of Campaigns Andrew Pendleton.

“Every nation should be going in to bat for the planet and tackling the mounting threat of global warming. We all need to play our part in building a cleaner future.”
