It may come as a bit of a surprise, but research reveals that Glastonbury is the greatest value for money festival of the summer in the UK.

The report, from looked at which 2015 UK music events would give festival-goers the best value by taking the cost of seeing their top nine headliners in concert by themselves and comparing this to a weekend festival ticket.

On that basis, Glastonbury saves festival-goers almost £250.

The cost of festival tickets has been progressively rising and many artists are charging more than £50 to see them in concert, the research reveals.

Glastonbury won the 2015 best for value title after finishing second last year. Fans save £247.45 when compared to the cost of seeing headliners including the confirmed Kanye West, Foo Fighters and The Who at their own shows.

The average Glastonbury spend per day is £112.
