Robbie Grabarz has won an Olympic bronze in high jump, sharing his place on the podium with two other London 2012 athletes.

Canada's Derek Drouin and Mutaz Essa Barshim of Qatar shared the bronze with Grabarz, bringing Britain’s medal haul to 48.

Grabarz  has set his Olympic sights high, claiming he wanted to beat the 2.45metres record set by Javier Sotomayor nearly two decades ago.

“2.45m is the only height I want,” he said ahead of tonight’s final. “I want to jump the highest anyone ever has. I really think I can jump that high but I don’t really plan what heights I’m going to go for.”

Grabarz was confident ahead of tonight’s high jump final.

“I’ve come out and shown confidence and that I’m not scared of anyone,” he said
