The One Direction overkill continues: now Niall’s half-chewed piece of toast is being flogged off on eBay for thousands of pounds.

After he turned his nose up at the Vegemite-covered bread on Austrlian, it was grabbed and put online, with proceeds going to children’s charity YoungCare.

A spiel on the post read: ‘For one lucky Directioner, that dream is about to become an easily digestible reality!

"Now, you can be the proud owner of this piece of half-eaten toast which passed the lips of the blonde singer!"

It came with a discalimer: "Please note: The item is perishable and although we will package it so that tampering is evident, we do not advise that it is consumed."

The seller admitted they stopped short at flogging the bite that Niall spat out, although 111 bids had taken the price of the untouched part to £65,000.

However, it seems as if the bidding frenzy has now ended, without a clear winner. Better luck next time guys and girls.

Niall tweeted about his traumatic Vegemite encounter, which you can see below.
