It is the ultimate dream – after wowing everyone, but mostly yourself, on the Football Manager game, the real deal comes knocking. Pure fantasy? Not so, as that’s what’s happened for a young 21-year old in Azerbaijan.

Vugar Guloglan oglu Huseynzade has been snapped up as the new manager of club Baku FC after their former manager Bozdar Bandovic.

“I have always wanted to work in football and have played Football Manager since 2002,” Huseynzade told a Swedish newspaper after his appointment.

He has been an advisor at the club since February of this year, and fought off competition from former France striker Jean-Pierre Papin.
