Wallabies Michael Hooper will miss this weekend’s game with Wales after receiving a one-week ban for foul play.

He pleaded guilty to the offence at a hearing in London that ruled him out of Australia’s final group match.

The 23-year-old was named for a risky clear out of England fullback Mike Brown, where the independent commissioner Steve Hinds found he had charged without the use of arms or grasping the player during Saturday’s 33-13 win at Twickenham.

The result is good news for the Wallabies, as Hooper faced the possibility of suspension.
