Fifteen people have been eaten already by a man eating leopard who’s on the loose in Kathmandu.

Ten of the victims were children, the most recent of which was a 4-year-old child, reportedly snatched from his family's yard by the jungle cat and taken into the forest where authorities found his head.

It is possible the attacks have been carried out by more than one leopard, local authorities believe there’s a single hungry animal at work, reports

Maheshwor Dhakal, an ecologist at the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation in Kathmandu said: "Since human blood has more salt than animal blood, once wild animals get the taste of salty blood they do not like other animals like deer,"

Chilling stuff.

A reward of £175 - roughly three months average wages for a Nepalese villager – has been offered for the capture of the animal, dead or alive.
