Tumbridge Wells might have the reputation of being a sleepy, uneventful kind of town, but it’s now at the centre of a mythical beast sighting frenzy.

A terrified walker has reported seeing an 8ft tall beast with demonic red eyes and long arms while walking in the woods.

According to The Sun, the ape-like creature, which looked like Bigfoot, roared at the walker, who immediately ran off in fear.

This is just the latest in a string of similar reports over the past six months.

The creature, which has been dubbed ‘Kentish Apeman’ was first spotted on the town's common during World War Two 70 years ago by an elderly couple who had been sitting on a park bench.

Some residents of Tumbridge Wells have said it’s a hoax and possibly a prankster wearing fancy dress.
