A woman has said she was attacked at the campsite for fans queuing for Wimbledon tickets.

The 34-year-old victim was assaulted in Wimbledon Park, according to a Metropolitan Police spokesman.

The BBC reports that witnesses say the woman was attacked in a tent in the early hours of Sunday, the day of the men's singles final.

One witness said his wife heard a commotion and a woman saying: "Have you had your fun? I'm calling 999."

Two tents were later taped off by the police, he added. A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the attack and bailed until early September.
