One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson is to get an apology from Gabriel Agbonlahor after the premier league striker clattered into him during a charity match at the weekend.

Tomlinson had been playing in the charity match at Celtic Park in Glasgow for the Stiliyan Petrov Cancer Foundation.

Agbonlahor, who played with Bulgarian Petrov at Aston Villa, went into tackle Tomlinson and left the boy band singer in a heap on the floor. Tomlinson walked off the pitch and was clearly shaken by the crunching tackle.

Other celebrities to have taken part in the match in front of 60,000 included former Westlife singer Nicky Byrne and actor Martin Compston.

The Stiliyan Petrov XI claimed victory over Tomlinson’s Celtix XI winning 5-3, with Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov scoring a hatrick.
