“It looks like a f***ing huge rat!” says one of the men in a car driving through a sleepy village in the west Midlands. “Is that a kangaroo?” the other asks. Nope – it was a wallaby, in Solihull.

While a wallaby leaping across the road might not be such an unusual site down under, it probably would be if you were driving through a village near Birmingham, as happened earlier this week.

Two guys were driving through the small village of Knowle, in the west Midlands of England, when they spotted something in the road that looked a lot like a wallaby, or kangaroo, as they thought.

“At around 11.45pm on June 13 we were called to a report of a wallaby hopping along Old Green Lane in the Knowle area of Solihull,” a police statement confirmed.

The critter had escaped from his pen.

Check out his midnight dash below.
