Technology – it was supposed to make our lives easier but frequently does anything but. Not in the case of a South African musical festival which will employ a ‘beer drone’ to drop beer to thirsty festival goers this summer.

The OppiKoppi festival in Limpopo, SA this August will be employing the eight- rotor remote controlled helicopters to dish out tinnies to music fans by letting them parachute down from the sky above.

The new tech is remote controlled for now but the festival organisers are keen to have it fly on a GPS grid in due course, too.
