Travel Guide: Rotterdam Getting Around

20th Jul 2015 12:00am | By Editor

Travel like the locals in Rotterdam and jump on a bike.

Getting There

Rotterdam Airport is only 4km from the city centre and has regular flights to destinations to many European destinations.

The best way to get to and from Rotterdam airport is on the RET Airport Shuttle No.33 which runs regularly between the airport and Rotterdam Centraal Station and costs €3.

Getting Around

The blossoming inner city of Rotterdam is fairly easy to navigate. There are trams, buses and a metro trains service but most of the sites can be covered on foot or bike.

With cycling all the rage in Holland you can mix with the local peddlers by hiring one from Rotterdam ByCycle for €8.50 a day or go on a two-hour guided tour that takes in the city's main sites for €25. Caution: trams don't stop for anyone.
