Overview: Having started out with one small Lima hostel at the turn of the century, the Flying Dog crew, now with a mini-empire of budget accommodation spread across four Peruvian cities, are clearly doing something right.
The capital, Lima, remains their heartland and a trio of Flying Dog properties can be found surrounding Lima’s atmospheric Kennedy Park, in the upmarket, central suburb of Miraflores. The beach is just a few blocks away, while stacks of bars, cafés and shops are right on your doorstep.
Brilliantly run, the Dogs’ have extra friendly staff, and even throw in a decent (if small) free breakfast at a café overlooking the park. Book into their Hostel B&B if you’re looking for a party, while their Backpackers Hostel is probably the quietest option.
Rooms Modern and clean with plenty to please those with a keen eye for design. If the budget isn’t too tight, go for the £27 premium double en suite rooms which have fantastic park views.
Bill please Dorm beds cost from £7pn, doubles £17pn.
