The renewed unrest in Egypt has prompted the Foreign Office to advise that travellers from the UK avoid various parts of Cairo, including the Egyptian Museum and Downtown.

As TNT went to press, swarms of protesters remained active in Tahrir Square, where they are demonstrating against the ruling military council. There have been violent clashes between protesters and police, resulting in some dead and many more injured. Travellers should seek advice from tour operators and avoid all crowds and demonstrations.
