Wiith is a social app that aims to connect nearby people who share the same interests and then they can join up for local activities and events. The app is available to download for free from the iTunes store. 

Skout is the global social network for meeting new people. Skout unites members looking for a friend in their hometown or while they’re abroad. This can be great for people who are new in town, traveling alone, or just looking to expand their circle of friends. 

Meetup is a social service that lets you organize and join local, real-life 'meetups' for people who share your interests. The app is available to download for free from the iTunes store here or from the Android store.
