Are you planning a trip to Nassau? The holiday capital of Bahamas is one of the best tourist destinations in the Caribbean. The city is so much fun that you can't get enough of it from just one visit. We took time (it was difficult….believe me) to seek out all the fabulous things you could do in Nassau. These are the five best things we found….check them out!
1. Visit the Queen's Staircase
This is the first on our list and a must-try for anyone who visits Nassau. The 600-foot-tall Queen's Staircase is a famous historical site in Nassue. The flight of Stairs was built out of limestones in 1793-1794. The stairs were named after Queen Victoria, hence "The Queen's Staircase."
The stairs led to the famous fort Fincastle which sits on top of the Bennett's Hill on the New Providence Island. You can take beautiful pictures on the stairs before heading off for a guided tour through the Fort.
2. Puff Cuban Cigars at Graycliff
There is more you can do at the Graycliff Hotel than just food and rooms. Aside from eating launch and waking up to a breathtaking view of the colonial mansion, there is a hidden entertainment arena in the building which you can only find when you seek.
You can taste some of the finest chocolates coming straight from a chocolatier, smoke up hand-rolled stogies with a glass of rum and tour through the Graycliff wine cellar, home to over 200,000 bottles of exquisite wines.
3. Go on a Rum Tasting Spree at John Watling's Distillery
You can't leave Nassau without checking out Watling's barrel-aged and small-batch rums from the John Watling's distillery. The distillery opens every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. you can check out the different varieties of pale and amber rum and get a taste of the old Bahamas.
4. Dive Trip at Stuart's Cove
Don't miss out on the opportunity to dive with wild sharks at Stuart's cove. You will find the Cove Dive at the southwestern side of the New Providence Island.
If you have never dived before, you can take diving lessons at the Cove while if you can dive, you will suit up for the real adventure on the open water.
You can also take up other diving options like SNUBA, wall dive with underwater scooters, drive your mini-sub, and take up Snorkeling.
5. Rent a Yacht and Cruise off The Coast
We saved the best for the last! You can take up one of the Yacht rentals in Nassau and customize your cruise trip. With your family and friends on board, you are sure to have so much fun on your cruise trip.
