The rotting corpse of 58-year-old Jose Alberto was discovered by police after neighbours reported a nauseating smell coming from his home in San Jose de Balcare, in eastern Argentina. Lying beside him was the scarecrow wearing lipstick and a wig, and equipped with a strap-on.
Prosecutor spokesman Rodolfo Moure said Mr Alberto appeared to have died as he enjoyed a roll in the hay with his bird-scarer companion.
“I initially thought there were two bodies,” said Mr Moure, as reported in the Daily Mirror. “But then I realised one was a scarecrow wearing lipstick and a long-haired wig. It was lying next to the deceased and had a six-inch strap-on penis.
“There were no signs of violence and we are working on the assumption that the man died during sex with the scarecrow. Straw had been stuffed inside the old clothes that had been sewn together to make the scarecrow. We are now awaiting the results of an autopsy.”
Neighbours described Mr Alberto as a lonely man who had worked in the area for about eight years. And the scarecrow was presumably outstanding in his field.
