The reprehensibly popular South Korean pop star Psy’s inexplicably huge Gangnam Style video is now the most-watched YouTube video of all after reaching 825 million views and passing Justin Beiber's Baby.
The video, which is known as much for the spoofs of it, has overtaken another befuddling aspect of 20th century pop culture, Justin Beiber’s Baby, which has a paltry-by-comparison 803 million views.
Psy’s Gangnam Style was released in July and spawned a dance craze – or crazy dance if you like – in particular a horse riding-like bit which has been copied by some credible people, such as UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon.
The song apparently mocks an affluent suburb of Seoul.
It’s sold more than four million copies worldwide and been number one on more charts than is sensible.
It’s also the Guinness World Record holder for most "liked" song ever, with 5.45m on YouTube for the official posting.
Go on, keep Beiber at bay with another view...
