Yes, this week (commencing October 6) is British Egg Week, so we’ve outlined the best venues for eggy dishes as well as spots holding special additions and special offers for this fun-foodie calendar event.
This brand new foodie market in West London is holding an ggg and spoon race, tastings and demos teaching how to poach the perfect egg, make homemade free-range egg mayo, and – everyone’s favourite – the Scotch egg! There’s also the ever-tense omelette eating competition…

Guests at Brew Café can expect some truly “eggcellent” creations during British Egg Week, including Turkish Eggs – poached and served with hung yoghurt, hot chilli butter and toasted pide, chorizo scrambled eggs, a signature Turkish Pide Melt with ham, gruyere, vine tomato, poached eggs and pesto and the comforting classic… Soft-boiled eggs with buttery soldiers. If you’re a stickler for golden yolks, don’t fear! Brew serve only the best, free-range, Buford Browns.
In addition to these delicious dishes, Brew will also be serving a limited edition Eggnog cocktail at all of their cafés across London (Wandsworth, Battersea and Wimbledon.) As well as running a competition throughout the week at their Battersea café to win a number of great prizes including dinner for two with drinks at Brew and a fabulous gift hamper from Space.nk. To enter, guests just have to order any egg dish from the menu throughout the week to be in with the chance of finding one of six golden eggs – prizes will be revealed to winners on Friday 10th October at the café.
To celebrate the best of British Egg Week, Goode & Wright have added the brand new Egg Portobello to their menu, which incorporates a charred Portobello mushroom on top of a pillowy English muffin with a Duck egg and velvety Hollandaise sauce. Come down from the 6thOctober to savour this tasty addition and enjoy a FREE glass of Prosecco during lunch hours (Tuesday – Friday 11am-2pm).
