The first trailer of The Inbetweeners USA has received an overwhelmingly negative response online.
The two minute clip, of the virtually shot-for-shot American remake for MTV, had received over 2000 dislikes at the time of writing.
"This is just the worst thing I have ever seen," said one of the more diplomatic commenters.
"The worst part is that once it comes out everyone will be saying 'did you see that cool new show called The Inbetweeners'. To make things worse when you tell them it is just a remake of an amazing British show they won't believe you," said another.
"I'm American, I loved the Inbetweeners, I had no problem translating the humour. This looks awful."
The show is set to air stateside on August 20, however there are no plans to screen it in the UK.
