After months of moaning about how the British summer looked more like a monsoon, the first arrival of sunny weather has caught out Greater Anglia trains, who have delayed trains between Liverpool Street and Stratford because it is to hot
Whilst most people are enjoying the fact that July now looks and feels like July, trains will be subject to delays and suspensions. Some trains will not even stop at Stratford, the station for the Olympics, today as the temperature tips 30C. This is due to the heat affecting old overhead power cables.
“There are some revisions in place to our mainline timetable today between 12.00 and 19.00 as a result of speed restrictions imposed because of the hot weather forecast,” a Greater Anglia spokesperson has said according to The Guardian.
Perhaps someone should have anticipated the fact that there is the possibility of hot weather in the summer (this is the UK after all so it is an outside chance, not a certainty, but a chance nonetheless).
