Police are questioning two boys regarding the recording of calls made to Scotland Yard’s anti-terrorist hotline and posting them on youtube.

The youths, aged 16 and 17, were arrested last night under the Malicious Communications and the Computer Misuse Act. They are being held in the West Midlands while they are questioned by detectives from the Police central e-crime unit.

In the recordings, the voices of the hackers can be heard referring to themselves as “team poison”.  They claim the Metropolitan Police’s security is an “illusion” because of “an old phone system”.

The Met’s director of information Ailsa Beaton said: “We are confident our communication systems have not been breached and remain, as they always have been, secure.”
