In what appears to be a case of epic smuggling fail, four tonnes of cannabis has been found floating in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California.

Harbour patrols received tips offs about floating bales 13 miles off shore. The Coast Guard, Orange County Sherriff’s Department and the US Border Patrol retrieved the floating bales of weed which are said to have a street value of $3.6million.

Bales of such lucrative content can often be found in the ocean when those trying to smuggle them across the border find themselves face to face with the authorities, and so they dump the incriminating cargo.
