A man says he was fined for littering after a dollar he tried to give a man in a wheelchair fell on the ground.
John Davis, from Cleveland, said the man in a wheelchair was pale and thin and on the side of the road with a sign asking for help.
So he reached out of his car window to give the man some money and after one of the dollars accidentally fell on the ground, the man picked them up.
Minutes later, Davis says, he was pulled over for littering.
He was given a ticket and his offense was listed as “throwing paper out the window”.
He said: “I have a brother that’s paralyzed. My brother’s in that same situation and struggles.
“I’d like to do it again but I’m petrified I’m going to get a ticket.”
Of the man in the wheelchair, Davis added: “Not only that, but he‘s needing some money or he wouldn’t be out there.”
Davis, who could be fined $500, plans to fight the ticket in court.
