Eg White’s career seemed dead after his likeable 1996 solo debut sold next to nothing.

However, by farming out his songs to the likes of Will Young (Leave Right Now) and Adele (Chasing Pavements), he’s found enough success to permit a belated follow-up.

A few lyrics miss the mark, but that’s the only problem with this cultured collection – a little more low-key than the artists for whom he’s written and produced, but soaked in beautiful tunes.
