Food

The best food by far is enjoyed street-side, dining at a plastic table for around 30B. Sit-down restaurants will charge around 50B and for the less culinary adventurous – western style food will go from 100B up. Visit Chinatown (Yaowarat) for some the most varied and delicious! For a quick breakfast or lunch on the go try curry rice (Khao gang) – curries or stirfry or both and can be found virtually anywhere in Bangkok.

Combine cuisine and culture aboard a luxury river cruiser or teakwood rice barge. Take in the view of the temples at dusk and the river life while enjoying a scrumptious meal.

Drink

Rooftop bars give you the best birds-eye view of this sprawling city. Enjoy sipping cocktails and breathtaking views from Vertigo Grill and Moon Bar or Sirocco Sky bar, in the State Tower. Two ideal places to watch the sun set behind the Chao Praya River.

For a little bit of everything from sports pubs to classy cocktail lounges Silom and Sathorn have it all. Hu’u, My Bar. V9, Zeta Bar and Molly Malone’s and plenty more.

For the budget concious – stick to drinking Thai beer – the cocktail ingredients, wine etc are usually imported and come at a price.

Water

Oh, and don’t drink the water. Don’t even eat the ice! Buy bottled water and make sure the seal hasn’t been broken.
