2011’s event raised £58,000 for the charity which helps to fund pioneering research to prevent sight loss and treat eye diseases.
GB Paralympian swimmer Chris Holmes MBE, who will be joining the walk, said “To have so many people walking to raise funds for research to prevent sight loss and to increase the awareness of the importance of eye health is just fantastic.”
The walk, which follows the Thames and takes in the various sights along the way, is 15 miles long.
