The scene: With a fresh, funky Asian-themed decor throughout, this recently opened restaurant is pioneering new technology – the E-Table. Diners place their own orders via virtual menus navigated via tabletop projections. You can also check out what’s going on in the kitchen on a webcam, and play battleships – good fun if you’re in a group or possibly a welcome attraction if you’re on a first date.
The grub: It’s served looking like a work of art and tastes just as good. The seared scallops are exceptional and my Thai red curry is pretty close to dishes served in Thailand. The duck with pancakes is devoured in minutes. Don’t leave without trying the macaroon and white chocolate mousse – divine.
Behind the bar: Sake, a cosy selection of wines, a host of colourful cocktails and, happily, Asahi Beer.
Bill please: Starters from £4.50, mains from £8.50, desserts from £4.75.
Verdict: Gimmicky but fun – and great food.
