Houston’s record label boss, Clive Davis is also lined up to speak, while Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder will sing at the service, which is to be streamed live on the internet.
The Associated Press have secured the rights to film the ceremony and broadcast it online. The footage will also be made available to broadcasters via satellite.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at New hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey, where Whitney Houston sang as a child. It is to be begin at 5pm (GMT), or 12pm (EST).
Houston’s body was flown from California to Newark on Monday, driven to the funeral home in a gold hearse.
The singer died on Saturday, February 11, aged 48. She was found underwater and unconscious in a bath at the luxury Beverly Hills Hilton hotel.
Houston reportedly died after consuming a cocktail of Xanax and other prescription drugs with alcohol.
A toxicology report is due to be released in roughly eight weeks.
