The team has been training in Cardiff and was supposed to be bussed into London yesterday evening. However when their transport broke down, British Olympic authorities took five hours to replace it, leaving the football team waiting into the night.

Now, some members of the Brazilian team have told newspapers from their country that they believe it was a deliberate ploy to put them off on the night before they do battle with Team GB, reports The Telegraph.

The Brazilian team are serious contenders for a gold medal in London 2012, having taken home silver in Beijing and Athens.

A furious coach Jorge Barcellos, called the bus fiasco a “disgrace”.

”I wasn’t impressed, a tournament of this size, and the delay in taking any initiative to resolve the situation was absurd,” he said.

Barcellos said he was now focused on calming his players after their frustrating night.

Meanwhile, Team GB women’s footballers are feeling confident after winning their first two Olympic matches against New Zealand and Cameroon. The team is now into the quarter-finals of the tournament but tonight will be an important showdown with the Brazilian team.
