We all know what zumba is – shaking your body to fitness with the help of some dance moves and good music.
However, have you ever done it with chairs? This new Zumba Sentao class partners the aerobic activity with explosive, chair-based choreography, which they say will “strengthen, balance and stabilise your core”.
By using the chair, you can take a breather in the middle of a routine (kind of).
During class you’ll perform seated and standing toning exercises such as push-ups, seated tricep dips, squats, lunges and abdominal crunches.
It’s a total body workout in the most minimal time possible.
This particular class uses Latin and other international rhythms – with every session you can feel the energy in the air, plus it’s hilarious to be involved in.
Classes take place in various locations around London (meaning there’s no excuse to skip one), all you need is a gym kit and a sense of fun.
Classes are held at different gyms, with prices starting from £7.
Timings differ depending on the class, but check zumba.com to find the most convenient session for you.
We like the classes around Caledonian Road (see below).
