A bowls club might sound like an unlikely venue for a market, but be assured you won’t have to dance around tipsy geriatrics in order to skip from one stall to the next.
The Balham Bowls Club is a popular retro pub with an upstairs space to hold events such as this. This is usually a monthly event, though the organisers are going on hiatus over the summer, to return in September, so this is your last chance for a few months to snap the unique wares of about 40 designers and artists.
Think quirky fashion, textiles and art, jewellery, vintage and upcycled clothing, screen-printed T-shirts and second-hand clothes. You don’t want to make any hurried purchases, either, so you may as well settle in for the afternoon and eat good pub food and sip in a vino or two, too. That’s what Saturday afternoons are made for.
Open Sat, Jun 23, noon-6pm
Balham Bowls Club, 7-9 Ramsden Road, SW12 8QX
