Over the next five weeks, The Roundhouse hosts contemporary circus acts from all over the world.
It’s a genre that has come a long way from bearded ladies and dancing bears, with a more varied, innovative selection than you might imagine. There’s still the high-energy acrobatics of Guinean troupe Cirque Mandingue, but they now share a programme with Swedish trio Undermän, whose act riffs on the experiences of its three male members, abandoned by their performing partners, who were also their girlfriends.
