The Metropolitan Police confirmed the death of Sara on Wednesday

A statement released by the family read "We are deeply saddened at the tragic loss of our beautiful daughter and sister of Harrison and Scott. Sara's family and friends are devastated. We would like to thank our friends and family who are helping us through this very difficult time."

Sara had been missing since the appalling attack on Saturday night in which 8 people are now confirmed dead. Her family had been waiting for news since that night and sadly received confirmation after DNA tests were performed.

Sara's father Mark Wallace wrote  “I really miss that funny little laugh.” and her Aunt wrote on facebook: "We are all so distraught to have lost our little Sara. She is the most beautiful, happy, positive young lady with so much to live for. Her heart and spirit will live on in all of us."

Sara is the second Australian to have died in the attack. Nurse Kirsty Boden was also confirmed dead after rushing to help victims and was then attacked herself.

Spaniard Ignacio Echeverria tried to defend a woman with his skateboard who was being attacked and was himself attacked and killed. Three French nationals died in the attack, Sebastien Belanger, Alexandre Pigeard and Xavier Thomas whose body was recovered from the River Thames on Tuesday evening. Canadian Chrissy Archibald and Londoner James McMullan also lost their lives.
