Sydney FC are set to make one of the biggest signings in the eight-year history of the A League as Italian superstar legend Alessandro Del Piero is set to make a move Down Under.
Competition was fierce for the 37-year old World Cup winner who had sparked interest from struggling Merseysiders Liverpool and equally as struggling Premier League newboys Southampton. SPL champs Celtic were also rumoured to be interested in the forward.
Del Piero is reported to be on the cusp of signing a one-year deal worth around $2million after three days of talks in Turin.
