The Daily Mail has apologised to a stage psychic who they claimed used an earpiece to hoodwink her audiences and have agreed to pay £125,000 in libel damages.
Magician Paul Zenon, famed for his Street magic show, claimed in an article in September 2011 that Sally Morgan, who goes by the stage name psychic Sally, had used an earpiece at a show in Dublin so she could receive instructions to aid the show.
“The allegation contained in the article that Mars Morgan cheated the audience in Dublin is completely false and defamatory of her,” solicitor Graham Atkins told the high court.
The Daily Mail conceded that the allegation was untrue.
