The London Fire Brigade are urging boozing footy fans to opt for a takeaway after they’ve been down the pub and necked a few pints, rather than trying to cook something when they get in and advertently setting the place on fire.
Rather than opting to attempt anything that involves a naked flame for its heat, the LFB are advising drink-favouring chefs to get their dinner either where they are drinking, or to bag a takeaway for when they get home.
When a quarter of London’s fires are caused by “young, educated city dwellers’, you can see their point.
This advice has been seen before, at Christmas, but this is the first time that adverts recommending this course of action have been translated into different languages to accommodate all of the nationalities in this cosmopolitan city of ours.
