A Guardian journalist has been prevented from filming outside the O2 in the latest case of a private space used by the public employing a heavy-handed approach when tackling its security. ??
The Guardian reporter was at the O2 and was instructed to stop filming because the O2 is an Olympic venue witih the security guards then invoking Anti-terror act as further reason for their enforcement.
Campaign group I’m A Photographer, Not A Terrorist has highlighted recently the alarming frequency with which photographers are obstructed from taking photos in public spaces.
With the Olympics’ 100-day countdown now underway, security in the capital is only going to get tighter, the law being misused more and more frequently as a result.
