A New Zealand man who stomped on a kitten and placed the gory remains on his ex’s pillow has been jailed for 19 months.
Abraham Zacharia McIvor, 25, admitted a charge of wilfully ill-treating a kitten, assault and wilful damage.
After a night of drinking and abusive behaviour towards his former partner, McIvor sent her threatening texts telling her he was coming to her house, reports Stuff.co.nzTerrified, the woman left, taking her 3-year-old daughter with her.
McIvor then arrived at the house and forced his way in, broke her TV and computer and threw food around. He then stamped on the kitten's head and put it on her pillow with a note warning her she was next.
Judge Tony Zohrab said while prison was probably not going to do a great deal for McIvor, at least it would offer protection for his ex-partner and other women.
