Lonely Island co-founder and recent SNL departee, Andy Samberg, is slated to co-star with The Inbetweeners’ Greg Davies in Cuckoo, a six-part comedy series for BBC Three that will air this year.
After giving the world classic hits like I’m on a Boat and Dick in a Box, Andy Samberg announced less than two weeks ago that he is taking his last bow on the Saturday Night Live stage.
His new show, Cuckoo, finds Davies’ Ken and his wife getting the surprise of their life when their daughter returns from a gap year with her new husband-Samberg’s Cuckoo. The BBC describes Samberg’s character as a “slacker full of outlandish, New Age ideas".
The show’s executive producer Ash Atalla is not estranged from comedy with international success from The Office and The IT Crowd.
Cuckoo is a sitcom set-up as old as All in the Family and promises a family affair with lots of laughter and love. One can only hope they will break out into song.
