He may be the fastest man in the world, but can Usain Bolt kick a football with the same skill as he runs.
When asked about his next challenge, Bolt, who runs the Olympic 200m tonight in London, said he wanted to try out for Manchester United.
“People think I am joking. But if Alex Ferguson called me up and said, ‘OK let’s do this, come and have a trial’, it would be impossible for me to say No,” the Sun reported Bolt as saying.
“I would not take up the challenge if I didn’t think I was good enough. I am a very accomplished player and know I could make a difference.”
A United spokesman said: “As the fastest man on Earth he would undoubtedly add speed to the team.”
This isn’t just a new dream for Bolt.
He hung out with Sir Alex Ferguson and the UNited squad in 2009 and in 2011 said: "I definitely want to see what I could do. I think I could step up to the [Wayne] Rooneys."
Bolt has been delaying any partying in London until after the 200m final.
“The 100m is just one step in the door,”he said. “But now there’s the 200 m. I have to defend this one too; that’s what’s going to make me a legend. I’m looking forward to it.”
Then, perhaps, looking forward to a chat with Sir Alex.
