Usain Bolt is planning a holiday in Australia, telling the country shortly after his London 2012 Olympics gold medal win, “Look out”.
After bringing the Olympic stadium down with his record breaking finish in yesterday’s men’s 100m final, Bolt said he was heading to Australia later in the year for some sunshine and cricket.
"I want to say to the Australian people I'm coming to vacation in September. Look out," he said.
Bolt is a keen cricket fan and has said he’d like to play with Aussie pretty boy Shane Warne.
The Jamaican sporting legend might be joined on his Aussie jaunt by friend Yohan Blake, who finished second in the 100m.
"Yeah, he wants to come to Australia to play cricket with Ricky Ponting and those guys," Blake said.
"My vacation is different. I don't know what I am going to do, but I will probably come with him. I am a big fan (of Australian cricket). I think he wants to watch the cricket and footy too."
Bolt’s statement began an instant battle between Australian states keen to tempt him with their attractions. Victoria is promising to invite him to its AFL Grand Final.
Melbourne also seems like a likely stop as it is the home of Bolt’s cousin.
Apparently Bolt would like to meet Shane Warne and earlier this year suggested he could line up to play with the Melbourne Stars.
