England went down 4-2 to Sweden last night, the final of their opponents four goals coming in the shape of Zlatan Ibrahimovic wondrous 30-yard bicycle kick, a clear contender for best goal ever.
England were leading 2-1 away to Sweden last night, with 15 minutes to go but suffered a reversal that was compounded by Ibrahimovic’s stunning bicycle kick from 30 yards out that stunned England, the fans in the newly opened national stadium Friends Arena and football audience around the world.
From an innocuous England throw, the Lions lost the ball which was then punted up field towards Ibrahimovic. Joe Hart rushed out, then had a moment of indecisiveness and ended up heading the ball straight up in the air in a wayward clearance. Zlatan stepped back, waiting for the ball to return to earth and bicycle kicked it over the hapless keeper, the defenders, and in to the back of the net.
Seriously – check it out!
