Prince William rounded off a busy weekend which included Trooping The Colour and celebrating his grandfather Prince Philip’s 90th birthday by defeating his brother Harry in a charity polo match at the weekend.
Prince William rounded off a busy weekend which included Trooping The Colour and celebrating his grandfather Prince Philip’s 90th birthday by defeating his brother Harry in a charity polo match at the weekend.
Braving rain and strong winds William’s team, Tusk Trust, beat Harry’s side, Sentebale, 1-0 in a match at the Coworth Park Polo Club near Ascot, Berkshire.
The teams played in a round-robin tournament which also included team sponsored by Dubai based Bin Drai Enterprises.
The the two princes went head to head in the final for the Sentebale Polo Cup in the event to raise money for the Sentebale charity that Harry co-founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in 2006 to help disadvantaged youngsters in the African country.
The charity has launched a new five-year plan to extend its efforts helping Aids orphans and other vulnerable children.
Unable to resist rubbing the victory into his younger brother The Duke of Cambridge joked "Just the winners in the photo" as photos were being taken.
The tournament was originally to be held in Dubai but was postponed and moved to the UK due to political upheaval across the Middle East.
