Terror suspect Abu Qatada could be released on bail today, it has emerged.
The hate-preacher, described as Osama bin Laden's right-hand man in Europe, will have his bid for bail heard by a senior immigration judge in London.
The radical cleric is fighting deportation to Jordan over terror charges, and is currently being held in a high-security prison.
The 51-year-old lost his attempt to make a final appeal against deportation at the European Court of Human Rights earlier this month.
Qatada's 10-year appeal against deportation to Jordan - on the grounds that he will be interrogated under torture in the country - has cost the UK an estimated £3m in legal costs and monitoring so far.
