An older lady in northern France missed out on NYE celebrations and fireworks when she was trapped in a Roubaix store after going to the toilet.
The 73-year-old woman felt faint while she was shopping and went to the toilets at a store near Lille on New Year ’s Eve, just as the store was closing. When she came out the whole store was empty of people and had been completely locked up.
It’s believed that the woman set off the alarm a number of times to try and attract attention, but no one came to investigate.
When staff returned on January 1, they found her in the store. She was fine but exhausted after trying, and failing, to get some sleep in the staff office.
Apparently, she didn’t even ease her boredom by tucking into any of the goods in store.
