A new chemical could create cavity proof teeth and do away with the dentist forever.
Dreading trips to the dentist could be only a childhood nightmare.
Dentists in Chile have designed a molecule named Keep 32, after the 32 teeth in a human mouth.
The chemical wipes out all the bacteria that cause cavities in just 60 seconds.
The chemical could be added to toothpaste, gum and mouthwash providing constant protection against bacteria build up.
Keep 32 targets the bacteria that turn sugar in your mouth into lactic acid, which erodes tooth enamel.
Without these bacteria the damage to teeth is prevented.
After seven years of testing the chemical is being tested on humans.
Researchers hope to licence the patent to Procter and Gamble.
According to the Daily Mail the chemical could be on the market in 14 to 18 months
