A Scottish village with 84 residents and an unfortunate name is to be linked with its ‘sister community’ of Boring, in the US.
The tourism-savvy Dull resident Elizabeth Leighton, who lives near the Scottish village, came up with the idea after cycling in the USA and spotting the similarly drearily-titled town of Boring, at which point a craft idea sprung up in her mind.
The two communities began talking about the proposition of the two becoming joined to share their giggle-some names. Now all’s been approved and the official duties carried out, it won’t be long before signs are erected announcing ‘Dull, twinned with Boring”.
